The new mirrorless full-frame camera systems introduced by Canon, Nikon and Sony set new standards – and this includes microscopy and macroscopy!

With our LM digital adapters, you or your customers can benefit from the cutting-edge technology in these cameras.

The new camera systems deliver even better image quality, and the cameras are smaller, more compact and more flexible. Our tried-and-tested LM adapter solutions enable you to get optimal use out of these new cameras with almost any microscope.

We have taken a closer look at the following cameras:

• Sony Alpha 7R III / Alpha 7R II
• Nikon Z
• Canon EOS R

We especially liked the following camera features that are particularly important for microscopy applications:

• Small, lightweight, compact camera body
• Powerful full frame sensor up to 45 MP
• High ISO sensitivity and extensive dynamic range
• Ultra HD (4K) video
• Full HD video with up to 120 fps for slow motion recording
• Live image feed: wired or wireless (Wi-Fi) to PC, tablet or smartphone
• Direct live image output in Ultra HD (4K) to an external device via HDMI
• Power connection via USB-C

Price-wise, the cameras of all three manufacturers sit in roughly the same range (approx. EUR 2,500).

We offer LM adapter solutions that work with almost all DSLRs and system cameras. Thanks to their modular design, our products are extremely flexible: changing the camera bayonet adapter is very easy, and adjustment modules for different sensor formats or eyepiece tubes as well as specific C-mount connections for different microscopes are available at any time.
