Newsletter 2020, April
Dear customer,
We’re still operating as normal and without interruptions to our service, despite the current Covid-19 situation. At this point, we’d like to share two interesting new additions to our product portfolio with you: our new adapter solution for the Zeiss Stemi 305 stereo microscope and the LM adapter solution for taking microscope photos with the GoPro Hero 7 action camera.
New adapter solution for the Zeiss Stemi 305 stereo microscope: under-the-microscope photographs with DSLR and DSLM cameras

The Zeiss Stemi 305 is a small, handy stereo microscope that has an integrated C-mount camera adapter with a reduction factor of 0.5x for cameras with small sensors. Because industrial C-mount cameras or microscope cameras, although perfectly fine for normal uses, are not powerful enough for demanding imaging tasks, users of the Zeiss Stemi 305 have long searched for ways to connect cameras with large sensors to this microscope. So far, the microscope’s non-removable reduction optics prevented the use of large-sensor cameras and thus made it impossible to obtain the desired image quality.
Our new LM adapter solution now eliminates the limitations of the built-in C-mount reduction optics and makes it possible to use modern, powerful DSLR and DSLM cameras with large sensors for taking pictures through the Zeiss Stemi 305 – thus enabling a level of image quality that far surpasses that of C-mount cameras. Especially when used on stereo microscopes, where subjects are typically viewed at low magnifications, camera systems with up to 60 megapixels will produce sharper images that bring out significantly more details.
We offer adapter solutions that work on phototubes as well as eyepiece tubes. Our LM adapter solution is focusable and enables an optical alignment of the image observed through the eyepiece with the image the camera sees through the phototube.
With our newly developed LM microscope adapter, you will get focused and high-contrast images. The integrated wide-field optics enables the camera to capture the largest possible field of view without any vignetting. We can also offer an adapter solution for the “bino” version of the microscope, which doesn’t have a phototube:

A totally new approach: using the GoPro Hero 7 to take microscope photos

The GoPro Hero 7 is a powerful 4K action camera that comes with the latest camera technology and an innovative design at a budget-friendly price. All this was reason enough for us to look into adapting this action camera for use on a microscope. Click here for our test report: https://www.lmscope.com/en/Gopro_H7Pro_mikroskopie_en.html
Back-Bone (www.back-bone.ca), a provider of specialist camera solutions, offers a modified version of the GoPro Hero 7 where the lens is replaced with an interchangeable lens mount that accepts C-mount lenses.
Below are the top features of the GoPro Hero 7:
• 4K HD video
• 8x slow motion in HD
• Hypersmooth stabilisation
• Touchscreen with Live View output
• Wi-Fi connectivity with live HD streaming
• C-mount connection (modified version from back-bone.ca)

With the LM microscope adapter, the GoPro Hero 7 can be firmly attached to the microscope via the C-mount connection. We offer adapter solutions that can connect the GoPro Hero 7 to almost any microscope.
