Attaching cameras with large sensors (DSLR cameras and system cameras or other cameras with interchangeable lens mount systems, high speed cameras,…)

To achieve the best possible image quality when using DSLR cameras and system cameras with large sensors (four-thirds and APS-C format) and full-frame sensors, we recommend a C-mount camera port with a 1x optical factor. That type of connection does not have a built-in reduction optics system (0.5x/0.6x/0.7x).

The C-mount connection serves as the basis for our LM DSLR adapters, which feature an integrated optical system. Either the Olympus C-mount connection (U-TV 1x and U-CMAD3, if available) or our LM C-Mount Port 1x (TUST42C) can be used as a C-mount 1x connection.

Using C-mount ports with a built-in reduction optics system (0.5x/0.6x/0.7x) in combination with an LM DSLR adapter and a camera is not recommended, because the reduction optics has a negative impact on image quality (field of view (vignetting!), sharpness, contrast).

Because of their high sales volumes, they offer an excellent price/performance ratio compared to special-purpose microscope cameras.
