Using DV camcorders and digital cameras in connection with LM Digital Adapters for microscopy

Purpose: Live video watching by using different methods

Used instruments: LM Digital Adapter,  Zeiss Standard Microscope, Sony DV Camcorder DCR PC 120E, Nikon Coolpix 990, Notebook Gericom Webboy XL1000

Compared to normal digital cameras, modern DV Camcorders offer a lot of advantages: actually, the purposes of DV camcorders  and of digital cameras  overlapping in several functions. Both a digital camera and a camcorder offer the possibility to take photos as well as videos and to show them on a big screen.
In the following, you can find some examples of how to connect your camcorder or digital camera in order to watch your microscope images. For these application examples, a camcorder Sony DCR PC120E and a digital camera Nikon Coolpix 4500 were used.
