The development of our tried and trusted macro stand 1 provides the user with a large number of advantages.
- The use of a ball head
means that the camera is able to move freely, which provides the user
with a good deal more latitude. Even with angled specimens it is now
possible to adjust the optical axis so that it is always at right
angles to the object plane. This way, a far greater area of the object
than was previously the case can be depicted in sharp focus.
- The LM macro stand’s ball head has been fitted with a quick release attachment plate so that the camera can be fitted to or removed from the stand with a single hand movement.
- Any type of lens can be used, including lenses with diameters over 75 mm.
- The stand column, at 500 mm, is considerably higher than it was with the previous model (210 mm)
The range of application of the new LM macro stand is the same as that of the previous model. In combination with our LM macro lenses (40 mm and 80 mm),
any digital SLR camera can be transformed into a microscope. In
photographic documentation, the new LM macro stand with the 40 mm and
80 mm LM macro lenses is clearly superior to many stereo microscopes in terms of image quality. The focus can be set exactly using the stand’s fine adjustment control.
As always, our products are finished to a high standard. The stand’s
body is made from light grey powder-coated aluminium casting and has a
total weight of 2560g.
