Enhancing the Leica DM IRB for photomicrography in a few simple steps with an LM digital adapter 

While the Leica DM IRB inverted fluorescence research microscope may be a somewhat older model (it dates back to the 1990s), it remains one of the best instruments around. With our flexible LM digital adapters, it can be converted for modern digital photomicrography in almost no time. When combined with modern DSLR or system cameras, the Leica DM IRB is in no way inferior to modern research microscopes. No other factor has as much impact on image quality as the lenses in the optical system, and Leica’s HCS lenses deliver image quality of the highest order.

The Leica DM IRB is equipped with a sturdy, almost vibration-free stand and an infinitely-corrected optical system. A comfortably designed “ergo tube” is also available, along with a wide range of accessories (heatable stage, micromanipulator, motorised lens changer, etc.).
Leica offers a multitude of contrasting methods for the DM IRB. Considering its wide range of illumination options (transmitted light, incident light, halogen, fluorescence, etc.), this instrument leaves nothing to be desired.
Because of its central optical path and infinity-corrected optical system, the Leica DM IRB is very well suited for photomicrography.

Modern DSLR and single-lens mirrorless (DSLM) offer the latest technology and are generally very well suited for microscopy applications. Most of them can be controlled remotely via PC/Mac. Because of their high sales volumes, they offer an excellent price/performance ratio compared to special-purpose microscope cameras.
